Time Machine Quilting provides the easy answer to finishing your quilts to a high professional standard. With the Gammill quilting machine, your quilt can be laid on the machine table with the wadding and backing and machined accurately to the exact pattern you require.

  My Gammill Classic long arm quilting machine has a 14' table and can accommodate fabric up to 150" wide, which gives a maximum finished quilt size of 12' x any length.
The three layers of the quilt - the pieced top, the batting and the backing fabric - are loaded onto the machine separately, so there is no need for tedious basting.
The machine is hand-guided, either following a pantograph pattern with a laser light, using a circle and fan maker, meandering in a stipple pattern all over the quilt, or outlining designs in the patchwork.
Borders can be worked separately to complement the main body of the quilt.
It is possible to use different threads on the front and back of the quilt, so a number of different colours may be used on the front to match the fabric colours, with a single colour on the back to tone with the backing fabric.

It is vital that your backing and batting fabrics are at least 3" bigger all round than the quilt top, and that they are 'square'. Please remove any threads from the right side of your patchwork, as they will otherwise be stitched into the quilting. DO NOT BASTE YOUR LAYERS TOGETHER.

I am happy to finish your quilt by attaching and hand sewing binding with mitred corners.

There is a wide range of thread colours available in 100% cotton and polycore, and also some variegated threads.

Numerous pantograph patterns are available to order, but it is possible to use any design that fits your quilt.
